discovery of your intuition."

Just got this in my inbox from Yehuda Berg.  Love it!

"When our ego flourishes, we are disconnected from God.

When our ego swells, our need for glory is not far behind. We fret over what others might think of us as our search for approval and recognition grows disproportionately large.

Here’s a trick. When you find yourself on the quest for approval over and over again, remember that your ego, which is fueling your quest, is actually Edging God Out—literally. You are disconnecting yourself from infinite love and fulfillment. It’s time to give your ego the boot and let God in."

A good friend of mine introduced me to Yehuda Berg’s Daily Tune Ups over a year ago.  You can subscribe to receive his daily inspirational messages hereI’ve received a few of his messages in the past week or so that go exactly along with what I’m learning right now on the Red Path as well.  I love it when I hear the same truth being repeated in several different mediums.

The following thought from Yehuda Berg goes along with my last post, You & I…We’re the Same.

“We’re not always what we appear to be. We wear a mask that conceals our truths. Just look at the people in your life. What do you really know about them, even the ones you are closest to? Do really know what makes them tick? Chances are you know only what they let you see. Have the courage today to share your pure thoughts. Be willing to say the uncomfortable truths. Do anything in your power to be open and honest with people.”

My excitement and passion is to see under the mask of everyone in my life.  I am writing this blog in an effort to remove my own mask.  The topics that I’ve been writing about come genuinely from my heart and I further commit to continue doing so.  My writing is therapeutic for me in working through my thoughts and feelings but I also hope it reaches some of you and inspires change in your life.

It’s a huge problem we have in our society that we don’t want to be vulnerable with those around us.  We have misconceptions about sharing our feelings, crying, being honest, and at times saying the uncomfortable truth.  For so many women it is really difficult to cry in front of others and let our friends and family see us be really vulnerable.  If you are one of those who hates to cry and let others see the real you, I know it can be scary!  I assure you though that as you continue to do so you will be removing your mask.  It is a huge relief when you are with a woman who finally lets down her mask and you see she is human!  We have a tendency to set each other up on pedestals and seeing each other cry and express our true feelings is so comforting in knowing that we are the same!

Being human reminds me of one of my new favorite songs by a Christian singer Natalie Grant.  I’ll link a video of her singing with Jordin Sparks as well as the lyrics below.  Enjoy!
Human by Natalie Grant
Every life has a choice
To rise up to fill the void
Every heart has a mission
And we are called to be human

We gotta do better than this cuz we only got
One chance to make a difference
We gotta do better than this cuz we only got
One life that we've been given
A little love, a little kindness
A little light in this time of darkness
It'll be what makes us different
It'll be what makes us human
I'm human, you're human, we are human

We are marked with His image
And we are scarred with indifference
Maybe now we should listen
Hear the cry of God's children

We gotta do better than this cuz we only got
One chance to make a difference
We gotta do better than this cuz we only got
One life that we've been given
A little love, a little kindess
A little light in this time of darkness
It'll be what makes the difference
It'll be what makes us human
I'm human, you're human, we are
We are human
I'm human, you're human, we are
We are human

Gotta do better than this cuz I only got
One chance to make a difference
Gotta do better than this cuz I'm only
Just one

I'm human, you're human, we are
We are human

It'll be what makes the difference
It'll be what makes us human

“The moment you say affirmations, you are stepping out of the victim role.  You are no longer helpless.  You are acknowledging your own power.”  Louise Hay

I’ve had some criticism and skepticism from others regarding my path lately and I am writing now for myself as a reminder that I know I am in the right place for me right now in my life. I already know this on many levels, but lately I’ve been dealing with some deep core parts of myself that still need to hear these affirmations.  A dear friend of mine introduced me to Daily Kabbalah Tune Ups and I love getting these insights in my inbox everyday.  You can read more about Kabbalah on their website.  I believe there is a lot of truth in what they are teaching and the daily emails help me to keep perspective as I continually work on changing my limiting beliefs.   The email I received this morning was perfect.

“Certainty isn’t positive thought or a personal mantra. It’s not, I know he’s the one or I’m sure everything is going to be fine in the end. Positive thinking is important, but it’s not certainty. Certainty is knowing that this system works, and because it works, I’m in the right place right now, regardless of how it looks. And because I’m in the right place at the right time, every time, I need to be good with where I’m at. No matter what. Today, inject greater certainty that you’re on the right path, that you’re connected to the Light, and that you’re in the right place, at the right time, every time.”

We have internal dialogues going on constantly throughout the day.  When was the last time you really listened to how you talk to yourself?  Are you positive, uplifting, motivating, and affirming?  Or are you negative, degrading, accusatory, and self deprecating?  More than likely you speak negatively – it’s ingrained in us from childhood – it was ingrained in our parents from their childhood – its a pattern that exists in our society.  Negative patterns of thinking, and believing about yourself and others – habits that are so a part of us that most often than not we don’t even know how negative we are with ourselves!

I for one didn’t ever give much thought to this topic until a few years ago when I really started to work on myself and my inner world.  When I get really honest with myself though I know that many of my day to day problems stem from negative beliefs I have of myself.  Since gaining this awareness, I vacillate back and forth between positive thinking and the negative self talk from the past.  Sometimes I do a really good job and go weeks and even months practicing positive affirmations and thinking.  Yet, other times, I fall into the trap of my old beliefs and I struggle desperately day to day.

I’ve been wanting to blog about Dr. Wayne Dyer for sometime, so I’m happy to finally be writing this post!  I was first introduced to Wayne Dyer several years ago when a dear friend of mine told me about one of his audio CD’s that she thought would help me with where I was at in my life.  Listening to, Secrets of an Inspirational Life really helped me as I was making a transformational shift in my life from what Dr. Dyer calls the shift the morning to the afternoon of your life.  If you feel inspired to check out this CD, then I highly recommend you do so as I know you will not be disappointed.  The following quote that he shares by Carl Jung helped me understand and have clarity as I was going through that difficult time.

“Thoroughly unprepared, we take the step into the afternoon of life. Worse still, we take this step with the false presupposition that our truths and our ideals will serve us as hitherto. But we cannot live the afternoon of life according to the program of life’s morning, for what was great in the morning will be little at evening and what in the morning was true, at evening will have become a lie.” - Carl Gustav Jung

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
                  ~Prayer by St. Francis Of Assisi

I love this video with thoughts from Will Smith.  My manager at 1-800 CONTACTS showed it to us at the last team meeting I went to.  He was applying it to our work situation, but all the connections for me were in my personal life.  Some of the main points that he talks about that I love are:
  • Nothing is unrealistic
  • Make a choice and from that point things will happen
  • Face your fears – attack those things you are scared of
  •  You can’t be scared to die for the truth – it’s the only thing that’s going to be constant
  • Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t do something
  • If people can’t do something themselves, they want to tell you that you can’t do it
  •  If you want something – go get it.  Period.

Albert Einstein once said "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”  In order to stop the insanity we have to be willing and open to change.  Sometimes this is easier said than done, but in my life I have learned the most, gained the most insight, and have made pivitoal transformations in my life when I am willing to do something different.  I receive a weekly inspiriational reminder from Carol Tuttle and this is the one that was in my inbox today.

“Each of us has the freedom to choose perceptions of our life experiences and the world around us that support us in feeling good all the time.  Each of us has the power to change how we feel instantly.”  ( Remembering Wholeness, pg. 92)
